IFTA Tax Filing Instructions
- Use the Tab key on your keyboard to move from one field to
another.
- Use the Enter key on your keyboard to submit the
form after all appropriate fields have been entered. The Enter key
will do the same thing that the Submit button will do.
- Tabs buttons at the top of each page will move you from one schedule to
another. To print & file the return you must submit at least one of the fuel
schedules before going to the summary to submit the return.
- To file a no operation return, you must go to the Diesel
schedule and file "0" for Kentucky.
- You do not have to complete the gasoline schedule if you only
operate diesel vehicles.
- When adding a jurisdiction, type in the first letter of the
jurisdiction if that is not the appropriate jurisdiction key the letter again.
- To make a change in a jurisdiction that has already been keyed,
simply re-key the jurisdiction as if you were adding it for the first time and
it will over write the original data.
- Once you have submitted the return, you can not amend it in any
way. Using your Back key on your web browser, you can review the computations
that were made, but you cannot make changes and resubmit the return.
- Always use the print function after you have submitted the
return. This not only serves as your copy of the return, but is also your
certified copy of date and amount of filing.
- The system will automatically place a "0" in the non IFTA miles.
If you have operated in Mexico, Washington DC, Alaska, or the Canadian
Territories, you can highlight (B) and add those miles.
- The system will automatically copy IFTA miles into the Taxable
miles for each jurisdiction. If you have approved non taxable miles in a
jurisdiction, you can highlight (I) and reduce the mileage accordingly.
